WHY ITALY, WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER COUNTRIES IN NEED?

There are many other countries in great physical need like the continent of Africa, as well as China, India, etc.  However, Italy is just as needy spiritually for Christ, as these countries and many others.  We have personally been burdened for the lost in Italy and God is using this to His will and His purpose and plan there.  For the glory of God, and the message of Jesus Christ, His son, we are committed to the people of Italy.

HOW SOON DO YOU LEAVE?

Once we have raised 100% support of both our regular monthly needs, as well as our outgoing moving expenses, we will be able to leave for Italy.  We are hoping and praying for early 2010.

WHERE IN ITALY WILL YOU BE GOING?

Our first two years will be in Perugia, which is for the most part located in between Rome and Florence.  Then after that, we will be relocating to another location in middle to northern Italy.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN ITALY?

Our first year will be two-fold…We will be integrated into an existing Italian evangelical church in Perugia and we will also be going to school to learn Italian, from the Italians (to speak to the Italians, we must speak Italian!).  Once we complete language school at the University in Perugia, we will depart to become part of a team of other TEAM missionaries, for the purpose of church planting.

WHAT ROLES WILL YOU BE IN REGARDING CHURCH PLANTING?

Just as we have many roles in our current church body, we will take on multiple roles there as well.  It will be along the lines of what experience and skills we currently have, as well as what needs there are at the time.  Currently we teach, mentor, lead youth, sing, preach, participate as an Elder, and more.  We also hope to have opportunities to use our gifts of food/baking and sports, as well.

HOW LONG WILL YOU BE IN ITALY?

Well, honestly, it is indefinitely.  It is desired that we be there for a minimum of 4 years, but Lord willing we plan on being there much, much longer than that.

WHEN DO YOU GET TO COME BACK/DO YOU GET TO COME BACK?

Yes, we get to come back to the U.S.  :)   It will basically be up to our discretion and financial ability as to when and how often we come back.  Contrary to popular belief, there are not rules that dictate our travel to and from, but finances do have quite a say in the matter.
